Ducks acquire Brandon Segal from Nashville

Posted by Varius @ 10:58 PM, Monday Jun 25th, 2007

Having no relation to action star Steven Segal, Brandon is a gritty player in the Ducks’ mold. He was acquired from the Nashville Predators for future considerations. The move is to add another character player to bolster the Ducks’ minor-league team the Portland Pirates. Segal was ranked at the bottom of the Preds’ top 20 prospects.

Looks like Burkey is really stacking up big guys for Portland. First Dixon, then King, and now Segal. I expect Portland to be much better next year. (Look for recently signed Andrew Ebbett to be their star player).

Question: Do you think Motzko and/or Hartigan will be re-upped?

    2. Varius Says:

I do think Motzko will be re-signed, I had predicted in my UFA post 1 year at $600K but perhaps even $550K might be possible seeing how Burke signed O’Donnell cheaper than I thought.

Hartigan I expect to walk though, I didn’t really see him click as a Duck.
