Anaheim and Vancouver swap players
Category: Trades and Rumors
The Ducks have shipped youngster Ryan Shannon to the Vancouver Canucks for Jason King and a conditional third-round draft choice in 2009.
Shannon is a small player by NHL standards, though very quick. Burke may have grown frustrated however after giving Ryan numerous chances throughout the season and Shannon not responding or fitting in with the team style. He finished with 11 points in 54 games. Vancouver will hope his speedy play will complement their other finesse players.
King, while playing with the Sedins, showed great promise and a knack for scoring that isn’t common with 7th-round draft choices. However he quickly ran out of gas as the season went on and was demoted. Concussions remain an issue with King as does the fact he is playing in Europe this season again after playing in Sweden last year (failing to come to terms with the Canucks).

Worth a shot anyway. Shannon didn’t really have a spot on this team.
