Sharks shutout Ducks 1-0 in pre-season play

In a tight exhibition game last night, San Jose squeaked by on late (and the game’s only) goal by Dennis Packard. Too Bertuzzi was partially to blame, after he checked Packard into the crease area causing the puck to slide past Ducks’ goalie Jonas Hiller and across the goal line.

The Ducks had their chances but couldn’t finish with close calls coming as Todd Marchant fannedon an empty net and Rob Niedermayer shot the puck directly at Sharks goalie Thomas Greiss.
