Hiller stands tall; shuts door on Canucks

Posted by Varius @ 11:57 PM, Sunday Sep 23rd, 2007

Vancouver had the edge in shots, but you wouldn’t tell from the score. Swedish sensation Jonas Hiller made 40 saves in a solid effort, to lead Anaheim to a 5-0 victory in their final pre-season contest. Ryan Getzlaf, who led the Ducks in playoff scoring en route to a Cup win last spring scored two goals to lead the offense.

The line combination of Getzlaf, Bobby Ryan and Todd Bertuzzi had a big night for the Ducks. Bertuzzi had 1 goal and two assists and rookie Ryan notched four assists. Corey Perry, Getzlaf’s usual line mate who played this game with Andy McDonald and Chris Kunitz also scored as did defenseman Francois Beauchemin.

The next stop for the Ducks is London, England where they open their season at the O2 arena against the Kings.
